1. (SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche on the U.S.
candidate for the International Narcotics Control Board
(INBC) to MFA's Coordinator for the U.S. and Canada Patricia
Cortes March 30. Cortes said she would pass information
about U.S. candidate Ambassador Levitsky to other relevant
MFA offices. Poloff told Cortes the U.S. counted on
Colombia's support and would follow up after the MFA reviewed
the material.

2. (SBU) Drawing on Colombia-specific language in para 6 of
reftel, Ambassador raised Ambassador Levitsky's candidacy
with Foreign Minister Barco also on March 30. Barco said she
had not focused on the INBC election but would do so soon.

3. (U) Embassy will follow up.
