Alphonso Gahona on June 5. Gahona responded that Belize had
sent their CDA from the Belizean Permanent Mission to the
U.N. in New York -- Janine Felson -- to the NAM meeting in
Malaysia. Mai stated that Felson had been an integral player
in the "Jamaica Amendments". Furthermore, she stated that
Belize, aligned with other CARICOM nations, felt the initial
draft statement had been "too one sided", and Belize had
sought to "tone it down."
