(S) POLOFF delivered demarche request per reftel to Belizean
MFA Desk Officers Gianni Avila and Ayesha Borland. Borland
reconfirmed that Belize remains a member of the Non-Aligned
Movement (NAM),but said the GOB would not be represented at
the conference on May 27. Borland and Avila said that they
have been following news on Iran via U.S. media outlets, but
that the GOB has no official comment on Iran's possible
pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability.
