1. (U) On November 15, 2006, Ambassador Polt called Serbian
Foreign Minister Draskovic to request Serbia's "No" vote on the
Belarusian retaliatory resolutions tabled in response the U.S.
initiated resolution in ref B. Draskovic agreed and contacted his
ambassador at the UN, instructing him to vote "No" on all three
Belarusian resolutions. The Ambassador also encouraged the GOS to
support the US resolution on Belarus. The GOS is likely to follow
the EU lead on this.
