Charge has not been able to arrange a meeting at an
appropriate level to deliver reftel demarche but did speak
with the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs who indicated
that the UNSC election would be on the agenda of today's
meeting of the Gambian Security Council. The PermSec agreed
to advise Charge of the decision on the election taken at the
meeting. Charge will provide an update as soon as it is
available. It is unlikely that The Gambia will move from its
support of Venezuela.
