Poloffs delivered reftel demarche on November 14 and again on
November 15 to MFA Americas Desk Officer Elchin Bashirov.
Bashirov reported that he would follow up with the Deputy
Foreign Minister, MFA's UN department and the MFA Legal
Advisor's office. Bashirov was noncommittal when asked
whether the GOAJ would support the election of Mr. Matheson,
adding that he had previously raised this question with
senior MFA officials and not received a definitive response.
