On 4/27, PolCouns conveyed to Julio Peralta, the MFA's Office
Director for International Organizations, U.S. concerns about
Iran's candidacy for the Human Rights Council calling
attention to its abhorrent record on human rights and its
refusal to cooperate with the IAEA and the international
community in addressing concerns about its nuclear program.
Peralta assured us that the GOP shared our concerns and had
decided it would not/not support Iran's candidacy.
