On 4/5, PolOff discussed reftel points with Luis Benitez
Rodriguez, the MFA's United Nations Desk Officer. Benitez
indicated that he would be speaking with AMB Mario Sandoval,
the MFA's Director of Multilateral Affairs, about this issue
and stated that the GOP appreciates our consultation
regarding these matters. On 4/20, PolOff contacted Benitez
for an update and he indicated a decision had yet to be made.
(COMMENT: Post does not believe that the GOP will have any
objections to this agreement, but also considers it unlikely
the GOP will pursue this issue because it is not a priority.
