(S) We passed reftel points to MFA Arms Control and
Disarmament Office Head Ahmet Muhtar Gun on October 30. Gun
said he was unfamiliar with the Turkish firm Norm Limited and
unaware of the items contained on the multilateral export
control list of the Wassenaar Arrangement but expressed
surprise that NBC suits were included. He promised to
investigate the matter and provide us with any details
uncovered.
