(SBU) POLOFF and Military Assistance Program officer
delivered reftel demarche to MFA's desk officer for the
U.S., Asal al-Tal. Al-Tal said she would forward the request
to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and stated her intention
to coordinate a response with the Jordan Armed Forces. She
understood the U.S. requirement for a revised agreement
covering approval for third-party transfers, and termed this
requirement as "routine." Post will forward the GoJ's
substantive reply when we receive it.
