Al-Khatib August 12. Khatib replied that the GOJ is waiting
for the Lebanese cabinet to convene and announce its reaction
to the UNSC resolution; the GOJ would speak out publicly
after that. Khatib expected the GOJ statement would express
hope that the resolution will lead quickly to a cessation of
hostilities, and to the durable settlement the resolution
calls for.
