(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche March 14 to Jamal
al-Shamayleh, deputy chief of the Foreign Ministry's
International Organizations Department. Shamayleh was aware
of the boycott meeting in Jeddah, and said that a junior
attache from Jordan's Jeddah consulate attended the meeting
for informational purposes only. Jordan's Ministry of
Industry and Trade already sent a letter informing the Arab
League that Jordan would not be sending a senior or
substantive representative to the meeting.
