1. (SBU) Ref A reports the probable support of the UAE for
Steven Lett's candidacy to head the International Mobile
Satellite Organization. Subsequent to that exchange, and in
response to a diplomatic note which had been submitted to the
MFA prior to our September 5 meeting, the MFA has responded
with a confirmation of support for the U.S. candidate.

reference to the Embassy's diplomatic note number 648 dated
August 27, 2006 and in order to support our bilateral

United States nominee for the position of Director of the
International Mobile Satellite Organization, Mr. Steven Lett,
during the IMSO's general assembly meeting September 25-29,
