The status of open OIG recommendations is: (U) Recommendation #2: The Embassy has purchased and taken possession of the former Kazakhstan Embassy building. This building is on the Embassy compound. OBO will renovate the building. OBO is holding a pre-construction bid meeting with contractors this week in preparation for bidding to award the contract for the construction work. Estimated start of construction is September ¶2005. (S) Recommendation #7: The Embassy building will undergo an OBO renovation that includes replacement of the Communications Center door. Post is awaiting OBO funding for the project. The estimated start date of OBO renovation has been moved to FY 2007. MULL
