(S) Donatas Ziugzda, Head of the MFA's Arms Control, Non-proliferation and Disarmament Division, informed us that the GOL's interagency import control board approved the application of the Kaunas-based British company Jurby Watertech to import a "MAW 20 MS3" filament winding machine (ref A). Ziugzda said that a joint Ministry of Defense-Ministry of Economy investigation of Jurby Watertech's facility in Kaunas confirmed the company's bona fides. He explained that the import control board decided that this sale did not rise to a level of concern meriting a formal report of the findings. Ziugzda stated that no further GOL action is necessary for the sale to proceed. ¶2.
