1. (SBU) Per ref A instructions, post advised Birgit Ertl
from the Ministry of Finance's Financial Markets Division
that the UN 1267 Committee approved December 5 the addition
of three Abu Sayaf Group leaders to the list of
individuals/entities subject to UNSC-mandated sanctions,
including asset freezing. We highlighted that ref A
background contained a complete set of identifiers for
Hapilon. Ertl promised to pass the information on Hapilon to
all banks and financial institutions to supplement ref C
information.
