On May 25, Post conveyed reftel points to Manfred Poiger of
the Austrian Foreign Ministry's department that is
responsible for ILO issues. On May 31, Poiger told Post that
the GOA does not support a significant increase in the
2006-2007 ILO budget. Poiger, however, noted that the ILO
Director General recently backed away from some proposed
increases in the budget, which would result in a 1.1 percent
increase in real terms. Such an increase, Poiger said, might
be acceptable to the GOA.
