On behalf of the entire U.S. Mission to the Netherlands I
want to express our thanks to you for the superb job that you
have done as Netherlands desk officer these past two years.
You have been an indispensable part of our engagement with
the Dutch on so many issues, whether it was our shared
efforts in the Global War on Terror, managing the sensitive
issue of Trafficking in Persons or the successful Dutch 2004
EU Presidency, to name just three of many. We have admired
and appreciated the way you effectively managed visits by the
Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and other high-level Dutch
officials to the U.S., and the crucial contributions you made
in support of visits by the President and the Secretary of
State to the Netherlands. Thank you also for all the
excellent assistance you provided during my frequent visits
to Washington. Through it all you have performed with
professionalism, good humor and responsiveness and made us
more effective here. We wish you the very best in future
endeavors.
