They pointed out that representatives from both China and Taiwan had participated in other recent OECD meetings without incident, and cited a shipbuilding meeting in late September as an example. They noted that while BOFT has the lead on OECD issues within the Taiwan government, because of the highly technical nature of the October 4 Talks, Taiwan was represented by Taiwan Import-Export Bank Business Department Vice Manager Liao Cheng-chong.
