1. Post provides the following additional information in
response to ref B request. Ref A is Post's response for the
six-month period from May to November 2005.
2. Deputy Foreign Minister Cristian Barros told the
Ambassador on December 21 he had traveled to Cuba in late
November to meet with Cuban Foreign Ministry officials.
Barros characterized the meetings as "light," commenting the
Cubans were more interested in "other countries in the
region" than Chile. Barros lamented the across-the-board
crackdown in Cuba. He said the situation appeared much worse
than in 1991-92, when he was last in Cuba.
