Droppelmann said Chile remained committed to the Community of Democracies, and reiterated the MFA's willingness to support Mali as CD chair (ref b). She noted that the MFA's two most senior officials on CD matters (Director General for External Relations Carlos Portales, and Planning Director Eduardo Galvez) were currently in Madrid and New York, respectively. Both would attend the UNGA meetings, and neither would return to Chile before then, she said. Droppelmann said she would relay Ref A points to Portales and Galvez later today. KELLY
