(S/NF) On 11/12/05, EAC met to discuss security issues in light of the hotel bombings in Amman, Jordan. Members in attendance were CDA, RSO, POLM, OMC, DAO, POLE, PD, CONS, LEGATT, AID, FPD and CCE. 2.(S/NF) EAC was informed by the RSO and POLM that security was increased at hotels, popular sights, Embassies, and other important buildings throughout the country after the Amman hotel bombings. EAC agreed that there was no evidence of active plans against Western targets or local hotels in Sanaa. RSO agreed to review security at the hotels in Sanaa that are regularly used by the Embassy to ensure all is being done to provide security for USG employees and citizens.. ¶3. (S/NF) RSO and other Embassy liaison offices agreed to monitor the situation and reconvene the EAC if any further information is obtained concerning threats against hotels in Sanaa. ¶4. (SBU) EAC was briefed about the delivery of a letter and statement to the Ambassador on 11/10/05 by a local women's organization. The letter and statement were delivered to the local guards on duty who informed the RSO. The group demonstrated peacefully for half an hour and departed. The letter and statement demanded the release of Abdulsalam Ali Al-Helah from Guantanamo. Local police posted to the Embassy assisted the local guards and there was no violence or cause for local security forces intervention. ¶5. (SBU) EAC was also briefed on a demonstration, on 11/101/05, at the Jordanian Embassy in the Hadda district of Sanaa. Approximately 150 people demonstrated against terrorism and pledged solidarity with the Jordanian people. Marchers carried pictures of King Abduallah of Jordan and spoke loudly against terrorism. There were no anti-American slogans or banners and the gathering lasted about one hour. Khoury
