EAC was chaired by the Ambassador and members in attendance were, DCM, RSO, POLM, POLE, CONS, PD, MGT, DAO, OMC, LEGATT, USAID, and CCE. ¶2. (S/NF) EAC reviewed the security situation in Sanaa and agreed that while there was no new threat information and the city was on the whole calm, employees are still directed to remain vigilant. ¶3. (S/NF) FBI Washington offered Embassy Sanaa a letter from Sheikh Al-Moayad to his tribal supporters advising them to protest his sentencing and incarceration peacefully. COM stated post did not intend to deliver this message but would continue monitoring reaction of tribal leaders to the sentencing as time progresses. EAC members reported that the sentencing of Al-Moayed and the discontent of his tribal members remain in media headlines and discussions around town. ¶4. (S/NF) RSO received information from host government security sources about a possible attack on police checkpoints in the Saada region. While this information could not be confirmed, media reports have pointed to a possible resumption of clashes in the Saada region. MOI security contacts advised that the city of Saada itself remained safe for travel of Embassy personnel. ¶5. (S/NF) As the Al-Houthi trial continues, LEGATT will be monitoring the progress of the court proceedings as well as possible negative reactions to the outcome. ¶6. (S/NF) COM advised EAC members that he would continue to explore ways to bring EFM's back to post, depending on security developments and trends. Krajeski
