Barbarello told us that Italian authorities had contacted the Italian company Pharmaline SRL, which confirmed that it had been contacted by an Iranian entity seeking to acquire the chemical 3-Quinuclidinol. Pharmaline representatives further told the GOI that it had rejected the Iranian solicitation outright, as the company prefers to do business solely within Italy, according to Barbarello.
