WORKING GROUPS
During a December 12 discussion, the Ambassador discussed
with FM Prince Saud Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud the
Embassy's proposal to eliminate the SAG requirement that the
U.S. Embassy submit a diplomatic note before scheduling
meetings between SAG and key U.S. Embassy officials. The
Embassy's proposal is intended to make it easier for Embassy
and SAG working-level officials to meet in support of the
U.S.-KSA Strategic Dialogue working groups meetings. The FM
noted in principle with that greater "flexibility" is needed
in this area, but said further discussion is required.
