¶1. (C) Per reftel, Acting Pol/C met October 24 with MFA
Director for UN Affairs Nacer Bourita to discuss support for
the UNGA resolution on the Holocaust Remembrance. Bourita
said that Morocco will indeed vote for the resolution as the
GOM considers it a "follow-up" action to the 28th Special
Session of the UNGA held in commemoration of the liberation
of the Nazi concentration camps. Morocco had been supportive
of the "tenor" of this Special Session and had pushed within
the Arab Group for the Session to be convened, according to
Bourita. While he emphasized GOM support for the resolution,
Bourita declined to commit to cosponsoring the resolution.
