Dubovicky replied that the case was still working its way through the local legal system and cautioned against any attempts at political interference. In fact, Dubovicky believes attempts at political interference could back-fire and would not/not be helpful to Mr. Weiss. Econoff reiterated USG position per reftel that we expect any proceedings against Mr. Weiss be conducted in an open, fair and expeditious manner, in accordance with due process of law.
