(S) We passed reftel points to Julien Deruffe in the MFA CT
office on October 7 and followed up with him October 12. He
reported that the GOF in principle probably would have no
problem with finding a way to address the PKK threat at the
European level, including actions that would target financial
and organizational support. However, the issue is still
percolating through the relevant geographic bureaus and other
concerned Ministries, so the GOF has no official reply yet.
He promised to follow up with us as soon as the GOF
determines its position.
