1. (C) On February 24, EST Counselor presented paper
contained in reftel regarding proposed agenda topics for the
2005 MTCR Plenary Information Exchange to French MFA MTCR
Point-of-Contact David Bertolotti. Bertolotti appreciated
the receipt of the document and he will prepare it soonest as
a POC document for distribution.
2. (C) Bertolotti offered that the French side had not yet
completed its preparations for the RPOC but that it hoped to
be able to complete a list of its own proposals for the
Plenary Information Exchange over the next month. Thinking
aloud, Bertolotti suggested several topics for possible
inclusion: an update on Iran's ballistic missile programs; an
Egypt country profile; and, a technology paper on a subject
to be determined. He also thought that it might be useful
for the French government to prepare a case study on
procurement attempts.
