Pol/Econ chief delivered reftel demarche April 18 on EU
participation at UNESCO negotiations on cultural diversity to
MFA Director for International Organization Affairs Ghassan
Shaikho. Shaikho said he would consult with the Ministry of
Industry and Commerce on this issue and get back to us, but
confessed he could not understand why the EU would want to
introduce a trade issue into UNESCO negotiations.
