(C) Embassy delivered reftel message concerning supporting the Iraqi transitional government February 21 to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Assistant Undersecretary for Coordination and Follow Up Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. Sheikh Abdul Aziz said he would pass the message to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Abdul Ghaffar. We note that the GOB has repeatedly and publicly expressed its support for U.S. policy in Iraq and the January 30 elections. We anticipate similar statements on the Iraqi transitional government in the future. MONROE
