(C) DCM transmitted ref A demarche to Mary Veronica Tovsak, MFA EU Affairs Office, on 11 March. No immediate response was received but Ref B reports substance of Embassy's extensive discussions on the GAERC agenda -- including Georgia -- with Tovsak 10 March. We do not expect a significant change to the GoS position as a result of our new points. The GoS is likely to follow EU consensus on this issue but could be more talkative at the table due to its OSCE Presidency and FM Rupel's desire to salvage something on Georgia after seeing the OSCE BMO disappear early in his tenure as OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
