In a February 16 letter to the Ambassador, Kuwait's Minister
of Finance said that Kuwait will make a $2 million
contribution to the International Finance Corporation's (IFC)
technical assistance facility for the Middle East and North
Africa (reftels). The donation will be made "on the
understanding that the IFC would also support small and
medium enterprises in Kuwait." The Kuwait Investment
Authority, which is responsible for disbursing the funds,
will approach the IFC to determine payment modalities.
