EARTHQUAKE RELIEF AT $100M

(SBU) Per ref D, Ambassador encouraged the GOK to provide
additional support for Pakistan earthquake relief during an
October 30 meeting with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Under
Secretary Khaled Al-Jarallah. The U/S reported that the GOK
SIPDIS
has already pledged $100M, $50M for Kuwaiti Red Crescent
relief efforts and an equal amount for the Kuwait Fund for
Arab Economic Development (KFAED). Al-Jarallah reported that
KFAED representatives soon would travel to Pakistan to assess
which projects require immediate help. (Note: Kuwait Red
Crescent has been on the ground in Pakistan since the early
days of the crisis. End note.)
