In response, Wheeler indicated that discussions have been ongoing within her department about upcoming Haitian elections. She said that Jamaica would likely participate in election observations as part of a CARICOM delegation, but added that she was unaware what stage of planning had been reached. Wheeler said that the CARICOM Secretariat would be handling the details of the observation team's visit, and offered to follow up with more information as it becomes available.
