1. On October 31, NEPAL ratified two SAARC Conventions:
SAARC Convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in
Women and Children for Prostitution; and SAARC Convention on
Regional Arrangements for the Promotion of Child Welfare in
South Asia. Ref A had reported NEPAL had committed to ratify
the Trafficking Convention; Shyam Sundar Sharma, Joint
Secretary at the Ministry of Women, Children and Social

Welfare confirmed that NEPAL had ratified both before the
November 11-13 SAARC Convention in Dhaka.
