On July 8, Post discussed reftel talking points with Eoin
Duggan, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Third Secretary
for UN Affairs, after having earlier transmitted reftel
diplomatic note. Duggan said that the GOI was "very
favorably considering" the U.S. candidacy for the World
Heritage Committee, but had not yet taken a final position.
He added that Ireland did not intend to nominate a candidate
to the Committee.
