UNCLAS DUBLIN 000645 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AORC ELAB ILO SUBJECT: IRELAND: NO SUPPORT YET FOR ADDITIONAL FISCAL RESTRAINT ON ILO'S PROPOSED BUDGET REF: STATE 94763 On May 24, Emboff delivered reftel to Department of Foreign Affairs EU Common Policies and OECD First Secretary James McIntyre. McIntyre said that the GOI is not yet prepared to issue a statement on supporting further reductions in the proposed International Labor Organization's (ILO) 2006-2007 budget. He added that before Ireland decides its course on fiscal restraint, it will consult with the Industrialized Market-Economy Countries (IMEC) organization members, including the United States. He added that as an IMEC member, Ireland shares a similar approach as the United States on this matter, and will consider the reductions sympathetically. KENNY
