Duggan said the GOI had no knowledge of Lashkar e-Tayyiba (LET) connections to Ireland, and he offered to forward reftel information to the Department of Finance, Central Bank and Department of Justice for reference. He added that since the EU Council Common Position had designated LET on May 2, 2002, it was likely that the proposed U.S.-Canadian submission to the UN 1267 Sanctions Committee would be successful. (Per reftel, emboff coordinated with the Canadian Embassy, which deferred on conducting a joint demarche. BENTON
