1. On January 19, we conveyed reftel points and proposed text
language to MFA UN Affairs Director General Ismat Jahan, who
had no substantive response. We are also providing copies to
relevant officials at the BDG's Ministry of Food and Disaster
Management.
2. The annual summit of the South Asian Association for
Regional Cooperation is expected to be held in Dhaka in early
February. Its agenda includes proposals for regional
disaster management. We will monitor and report relevant
developments.
