(C) Emboffs discussed Slovakia's view on the renewal/extension of the ISAF mandate with Vladimir Jakabcin, the Ministry of Defense's Director General for Defense Policy and International Relations, on August 24. Jakabcin stated that the MOD needed to further consult with the MFA before releasing an official position on this matter. However, Jakabcin stated that Slovakia agrees with the merger of OEF and ISAF, under a NATO/ISAF command structure. His office is developing a plan which will convert the Slovak mission at Bagram to ISAF. VALLEE NNNN
