DECOM/CGIN 05/492 Brasilia, August 10, 2005 I refer to the petition filed by the Policarbonatos do Brasil S.A. company, requesting a dumping investigation to determine damage and causal connection on exports to Brazil of polycarbonate resins in powder, flake, granulated or pellet form, at a fluidity index between 1.0 and 59.9g/10min, originating from Argentina, the United States of America and the European Union, proceeding no. MDIC/SECEX 52100.0234415/2004-69. In accordance with Article 21 of Decree no. 1602 of August 23, 1995, please be notified that the Secretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, decided to initiate an investigation; see Circular SECEX no. 49, of August 5, 2005, published in the Diario Oficial da Uniao on August 9, 2005. We are attaching a copy, in accordance with art. 61 of this decree. Attached is a copy of the complete text of the above- referenced petition, per paragraph 4 of art. 21 of the cited decree.
