1. (C) Poloff delivered the points contained in Ref A to
Coordinator for the United States and Canada Francisco
Gonzalez, stressing the need to make clear the international
community's serious concerns about Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Gonzalez promised to pass them to Diana Aguilar, Director of
MFA's disarmament office immediately. Poloff noted that the
U.S. was providing these points to IAEA Board of Governors
(BOG) members and encouraged the GOC to include them in their
national statements at tomorrow's BOG meeting. Gonzalez
urged the U.S. to work with the Colombian Mission in Vienna.
2. (S) Post provided the sensitive briefing requested in Ref
B to Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolina Barco on November
22. Vice Minister for Multilateral Affairs Alejandro Borda,
Vice Minister for Bilateral Affairs Camilo Reyes, Gonzalez
and Aguilar were also present. After the meeting, Gonzalez
told Deputy PolCouns that the GOC understands the gravity of
the Iranian nuclear weapons proliferation situation.
