OFFICER CSG-THAI

1. (U) LtGen Blackman, I mentioned this to you in person
at our last meeting, but I wanted a written record of my
appreciation for the splendid performance of Col James Reilly
during his recent tenure as commanding officer for the
Combined Support Group Thailand (CSG-THAI). First, as leader
of the Disaster Relief Assessment Team, then later as head of
CSG-THAI in Phuket, Jim demonstrated superb leadership,
collegial spirit, and a great sense of teamwork. By allowing
members of JUSMAGTHAI and the Political section to become
part of CSG-THAI, Col Reilly ensured instant communication
and a rapid response among the military, civilian, and
international agencies administering relief to tsunami
victims in Thailand. By instilling in his staff that same
spirit of cooperation, Col Reilly helped to ensure the rapid
transfer of relief operations in Thailand to civilian
authorities. Col Reilly's performance was a credit to the
Marine Corps, to CSF-536, and to our Country. Many thanks
again.

2. (U) Best Wishes, Skip
BOYCE
