1. (U) Embassy Athens has reviewed proposed research project
No. HL066947-06 involving the University of
Washington/National Institutes of Health and Papanikolau
Hospital in Thessaloniki Greece for further study of Beta
Thalassemia. Post supports implementation of research at the
discretion of NIH, as the proposed research project furthers
USG interests and objectives in Greece. Embassy Athens
requests to be updated on the status of research, progress
and results as they become available, and will standby to
assist in whatever way possible.
