1. (C) Acting PolMilCouns submitted to MFA Arms Control and
Disarmament Department Head Osman Yavuzalp on June 9 an
annotated copy of the modified Dec. 1999 CWC Host Country
Agreement with Turkey on Challenge Inspections draft MoU that
highlighted changes from the original Dec. 1999 text. Post
also provided to Yavuzalp the names of the two US experts who
will be available to discuss the draft MoU with the Turkish
delegation to the 41st Executive Council Session of the OPCW
in The Hague at the end of June.
2. (C) Per ref b, Post does not expect a response from Turkey
on the draft text until July.
