1. EMBASSY Amman's Public Affairs Office conducted outreach
activities in support of the goals outlined in reftel. The
text of the Secretary's statement of December 5 was posted
on the main homepage of the mission website at the top of
the page. Post also electronically distributed the
Secretary's complete statement to all editors-in-chief at
SIPDIS
Jordan-based Arabic and English language newspapers, as well
as to 59 senior academic, media and civil society
professionals interested in security themes. These initial
steps will help ensure that the statement is widely
available to local audiences.
2. Media reaction to the Secretary's remarks will be
forwarded by septel. As of December 7, there was no
editorial reaction by Jordanian outlets.
