¶1. (SBU) Drawing on reftel points, EBO Astana principal
officer on May 11 conveyed to Zhandos Asanov, director of
the MFA's Department of Europe and Americas, the request for
Kazakhstan to support the Iraqi Transitional Government.
¶2. (SBU) Asanov responded positively and said that he would
convey the request to the Department of Middle East Affairs.
