MFA reps noted that Faezeh Zahed's name also appeared on a list of individuals delivered to the Dutch MFA in May (Ref B). Wegerif and Groeneveld reported that FM Bot and Justice Minister Donner had discussed the earlier list in mid-June but had reached no decision on how to handle the USG request. Arnout said that conditions in Iraq had been deemed at that time - and remain - "too dangerous" to send the requested delegation to determine the validity of country ties. Wegerif and Groeneveld thanked poloff for the additional details regarding Zahed and promised to look further into this specific case, but indicated that they did not intend to take action until after the Germans made a decision regarding Zahed's preference for relocating there.
