1. Embassy The Hague has regularly posted the Human
Rights, Religious Freedom and Trafficking in Persons reports
on the embassy web site and alerted key contacts to their
existence. We have not, however, translated the reports
into Dutch given the extraordinarily high proficiency in
English. According to the government, 75 percent of Dutch
know English; this is particularly true among likely
consumers of the report. We, therefore, judged it not
necessary to translate the referenced documents into Dutch.
For the record, translating only selected excerpts, the
summaries, best practices and Netherlands-related sections
would cost a total of 1,620 Euros ($1,975.61 USD).
2. The Embassy has made the link to these reports more
direct (one click from the first page of the website) and
will continue to review ways of disseminating these reports
to key contacts and audiences.
